It is important to us that foods are as healthy as they can be for our customers, that they are produced ethically and the farmers and growers, indeed all in the supply chain, are given fair payments and conditions. We try, where possible, to ensure that the products we offer are sourced locally and meet our own ethical and fairtrade policies for a fairer, happier and healthier world. Also vital to us is that products are not tested on animals and there is no cruelty in the making of any of the products we sell.

The new Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition has included a pledge on banning the cruel and unnecessary use of animals in household product testing in their joint plans for government.
